National Conference on Citizenship - 09/22/2008

On September 22, 2008, the National Conference held its 2008 Annual Conference held on September 22 at the National Archives in Washington, DC. At the conference, David Eisner, CEO of the Corporation for National Service, announced that the Corporation will engage five leading universities to expand scholarly and policy research and deepen understanding about volunteering, national and community service, and civic engagement in America. Mr. Eisner also announced $2.3 million in grants to six organizations to support the use of social networking and Web 2.0 strategies to increase college student service.
