On May 6, 2007, the President and Mrs. Bush welcomed Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and His Royal Highness The Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh for a State Visit to celebrate the 400th Anniversary of the Jamestown Settlement. An official arrival ceremony was held on the South Lawn to commemorate the event.
